Peter Paul Sikorski
February 26th, 2012
Peter Paul Sikorski passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2012. Born in Cologne, Germany. He emigrated to Macalister, B.C. in 1956 with his mother where he had many wonderful childhood adventures, roaming the forests with his childhood friends. He attended a one room school in the Macalister lumber mill camp to grade 7, boarded in grade 8, and the family moved into Quesnel for high school. He attended NAIT in Edmonton and worked summers in the mills in B.C.
Predeceased by his father Paul Alfred Ulrich in 1956, and his mother Elizabeth (nee Carls) in 1995. Elizabeth married Joe Sikorski in 1958 and Joe was a wonderful father to Peter. Peter’s favourite memory of his first year in Canada was learning to chop wood in the lumber camp. That love of wood must have led to his 40 year career in construction.
He is survived by his beloved Harley; his wife, Colleen; his brother James and daughter Tanis of Langely, B.C.; his sister Edelgaarde (Dieter) of Cologne, Germany; his daughter Erin (Siebe) Borsje; his son Joe (Corrie) of Calgary; and one grandchild Isaac.
Peter had a passion for all things mechanical; he loved the outdoors: camping, kayaking, canoeing and rafting trips. Motorcycling was a lifelong passion. He was known for his loyalty to his many friends. He held them dear and had many wonderful memories to reminisce over in his later years. A special hello goes out to his friends at the Dell Cafe. Special thanks to the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the Carewest Sarcee Hospice for all their warmth and kindness in this past year.
Donations can be made to Carewest Sarcee Hospice, c/o Calgary Health Trust, 800, 11012 Mcleod Trail SE, Calgary, Alberta T2J 6A5. Open house on Sunday, March 4, from 1-4 p.m., at the family home please call (403-288-3169).

In planning another summer trip to nakusp we became aware of peters passing. Peter was a great travelling companion. We enjoyed his honest approach to life and ability to appreciate simple pleasures(our trips, nature and companionship). I wanted to convey my sympathy during this diificult time. Sincerely, Andrew
