Trevor John Stewart

October 29th, 2018

Trevor unexpectedly passed away on October 29, 2018.  Although Trevor had his struggles in life, he remained positive and determined to press on.  As a boy, he was active in soccer, lacrosse, ice and roller hockey.  He loved skateboarding, snowboarding and BMX racing.  Trevor also had a creative side which he demonstrated in his art-work, his “stand out” attire, and the lyrics he wrote for rap beats.  He was funny, smart, and generous with his smiles and enthusiasm.  There was rarely a dull day when Trevor was in it.  He has left a silent void in our household.  Through him we learned the true meaning of unconditional love.  Parents, Gregg and Shari; and brother, Gordon will miss him always.  He leaves behind aunt Nancy and uncle Reg; and cousins Brett and Jameson Butler; uncle Glen LeGuyder; and relatives and friends in Calgary.  The Stewarts in BC include uncles and aunts, Gary (Edith), David (Juanita), Bob, and Carole; along with cousins and friends there.  Trevor spent many hours in Fish Creek Park; walking his beloved dog, “Pal”, riding his bike, or just walking and contemplating life.  In living memory of Trevor John Stewart, a tree will be planted in the park.  There will be no formal service.  We will leave it to those who knew Trevor to recall a happy time with him and store that memory.

Messages:

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Just heard the news tonight. Please know my thoughts are with you at this time and always.

Dear Gregg, Shari & Family. I was so sad to read of your tragic loss and then also of the loss of Anne. My thoughts are with you.

Dear Shari and Gregg, I can't imagine a more devastating grief for parents than the unexpected loss of a child. I was taken by your thoughts on life's lessons learned from parenting a son as singularly unique as Trevor .... that of unconditional love and the void this leaves when life's journey is over too soon. Hold tight the memories of those smiles peering out from the photo, generous personality, enthusiasm and larger than life determination ... you wouldn't have missed any of this and these are the gifts and returns that linger life long. May this bring its own comforts and smiles just as you are asking his friends to do to remember and honor who he was.

I am so saddened by the news of Trevor’s passing and my deepest condolences go out to the entire Stewart family. Growing up on the same street with Trevor, we shared many adventures and memories that will never be forgotten. Trevor was always extremely kind and very protective of me when we were kids and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better friend. We got into our share of harmless trouble, hanging out on the island, skating at the lake, or hanging out in the treehouse in his backyard. I will always remember Trevor in such a positive way. He brought a lot of light and laughter to my life. The Dayman’s will never forget this beautiful soul and are sending all our love to Shari, Gregg and Gord ❤️
