CHASSE, April Alice

April 29, 1958 – August 18, 2021

April passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the age of 63 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Brian Kalmbach; daughters, Brandy (Chris) Halladay and Amanda Kalmbach; grandchildren, Quinten, Meadow and Edward; father, Edward Newbury; sister, Lynne (Allan) Schmidt; as well as niece Sara, nephew Nicolas and many close friends. April was predeceased by her mother, Annie Bernice Newbury and niece, Jennifer Lynne Schmidt.

April was a strong woman who faced life's challenges head on. She had a successful career as an insurance adjuster for over 32 years while also juggling the demands of being an amazing mother. She met the love of her life 18 years ago and not only gained her soul mate but a second daughter to love as well. She enriched the lives of all who knew her, including her three grandchildren who had many special experiences with their grandmother. Brian was not the only one who enjoyed April's love and loyalty, she was a devoted friend who had life long friendships she developed through the insurance business and through family connections. Anyone who met April will say that she told it like it was, and that she was usually right. The world will not be the same without her wisdom and candour and the love she showed so many of us.

A Celebration of April’s Life will be held at the Crossfield & District Community Centre, 900 Mountain Avenue, Crossfield, Alberta on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in April’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
