SAUNDERS, David Larry
It is with sadness the family of David Larry (Dave) Saunders announce his sudden passing as the result of a vehicle accident on September 23, 2021.
Dave, born November 12, 1950 was the fourth of five children of Arthur and Mivor (Hedin) Saunders of Parkland, AB. Dave grew up on the family farm east of Parkland and attended school at Parkland and Stavely. He began his career early in life in the mobile home industry working for Klassen Homes of Vulcan and later for Neonex Housing in Calgary as purchasing agent. Dave later became involved with sales which found him opening his own drapery business, and then on to cabinet and flooring sales which he was involved with for many years. He enjoyed the challenges associated with sales and business in general. As a youngster, Dave enjoyed sports including soft ball, pond hockey with friends and family. Being mischievous he kept things lively at home and in school, and he grew with the idea there should always be a humourous side to things and this!
was especially evident in card and table games. It also carried over into music which he loved. Singing, dancing, playing instruments and practical jokes were prominent in his life as he enjoyed displaying his abilities in the many countries he and life partner Sharon visited over the years, especially Italy. Dave and Sharon visited and lived in many countries around the globe. As a fix-it kind of person he would put his patient mind into gear and come up with solutions for many things including renovating properties which he loved to do.
Dave will truly be missed by many including life partner, Sharon; step son,
Cory (Irena); sisters, Joyce (Gordon) Shoults, Donna (Mike) Hart, Myrna (Al dec. 2002) McGuire; brother, Howard (Gloria); numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and an uncle and aunt and also many friends and business acquaintances.
A Celebration of Life will be held when Covid restrictions permit.
