Debby Leona Skelton
June 26th, 2021
Debby Skelton passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the age of 66 years surrounded by her husband, Norm; daughter, Sonya; and granddaughter, Kirby.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of 50 years, Norm; her 3 children, Sonya, Justin and Spencer; grandsons, Joshua, Jordin and Jace Skelton; granddaughter, Kirby (Dolly); as well as her mother, Leona Plummer (my little mom); sisters, Cindy Churchill and Sherry Wright; brothers, James and Gordy Plummer; many aunts, uncles, cousins, in laws, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. She is predeceased by her father, Albert Plummer; and brothers, Danny, David and Robby.
Debby was born in BC the oldest of 8 children. Debby and Norm lived the adventure throughout BC and western Canada later moving to Alberta.
Debby will be remembered for her kindness, her mantra, “be kind, just be kind!!” her loyalty to so many friends, and a wonderful wife and loved being a mom and grandmother. The milkman (father in law) once said when she was outside with her own kids, that’s the Debby I remember, a kid on the hip and a couple more in tow when just a baby herself.
Debby enjoyed gardening and spent many hours out weeding and having long discussions with her daughter Sonya. Spending time with her fur babies as she called her pets. She loved to travel particularly to the Caribbean and had hoped to retire to the Dominican Republic and do her painting which she hoped to have more time for. She will be missed!
“And perhaps what made her beautiful was not her appearance or what she achieved but in her love and in her courage and her audacity to believe: no matter the darkness around her Light ran wild within her, and that was the way she came alive, and it showed up in everything”. ~Morgan Harper NicholsMessages:
I am so very sorry Norm and family for the loss of the love of your life … for all of you who she’s left behind … she was a truly beautiful soul who treasured each and every one she lived so dearly !! I’ve known Deb for more than 50 years … since we met the first year of high school , we hung out a lot and she would have sleepovers at my house as teenagers !! We had fun together and later as young married women with babies we’d get together for coffee many times !! There were tears when we wouldn’t see each other due to distance but when we’d reunite it was like a day hadn’t passed and we’d just jump right back in where we left off !! I’m ashamed at myself for allowing time to pass not knowing she was ill !! I didn’t get to say goodbye dear friend , but it’s a so long for now. We will meet again one day !! I will miss you so much and think of you often and hold onto our memories I love you Debby ❤️ RIP
I will miss Deb very much and cherish all the memories I have at her property in Balzac. Deb was the kindest soul, beautiful inside and out! Rest In Paradise.
My deepest condolences to you Norm and your family..Deb will always be in your heart and the beautiful memories you share. Deb will always be my best friend of 53 years and we will never forget her or the memories we made growing up wild in Pitt Meadows..love you forever and miss you, girlfriend... Lenora Tottenham and Pam Belanger..two of the " three bitches"
So sorry for your loss. Our deepest sympathy.
We didn't know Debby but we wish you our deepest condolences. It is so hard to loose a loved one at such a young age. My mom died at age 64. We pray that God will keep you in perfect peace. Eventually but not now the pain will change to fond memories. Much love and prayers, Debbie and John
