TIMMONS, Henry Don
February 11, 1937 – January 18, 2022
Henry was born in Smoky Lake, Alberta on February 11, 1937 and passed away peacefully at the Bethany Care center in Didsbury, Alberta on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, twenty-four days before his 85th birthday. He was surrounded by family and close friends.
Beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather and friend to many. He will be lovingly remembered by his family, son, Derrick (Lyne); son, Christopher; daughter, Jenelle; daughter-in-law, Nancy; grandchildren, Katrina (Scott), Nathan, Mackenzie, and Joshua; and great-grandson, Abel; and Lisa McKnight who has always been a very special part of our family. Sisters, Shirley Lawrie and Gloria (David) Balchin; brother-in-law, John Stephen and sister-in-law, Anne Timmons; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; cousins, Walter and Jean Myndiuk, Bill and Mary Myndiuk, Josephine and Bob Milligan, and their respective families. Dad was predeceased by his wife Carole of 58 years; his son, Bradley; parents, Steve and Mary Timmons (Tomchyshyn); sister, Josephine; and brothers, John and Joseph.
Crossfield, Alberta was his home and he proudly resided there from 1950 until his passing.
Dad was a very devoted, hardworking father whose main focus and thought was on providing a good life for his family. A jack of all trades, combined with a brilliant mechanical aptitude, Dad loved to tinker with anything that needed adjustment or required repair. We all relied upon his knowledge and practical common sense when we needed help, and many valuable lessons were learned over the years. A welder, automotive and heavy-duty mechanic, Dad operated his own business for many years in the Crossfield area and throughout Alberta.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved the outdoors and spent as much time as possible taking spontaneous road trips with his family to the cabin in Sylvan Lake, Vancouver, camping in self-made sites, salmon fishing in Campbell River, and hours in the yard perfecting his lawn and garden.
We love you Dad/Grandpa/Great Grandpa. Rest Well. You are now in a better place. God bless, we will miss your presence every day.
A special thanks to the Bethany Care Center in Didsbury, Alberta for their professional and compassionate care.
At his request, no formal Funeral Service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bethany Care Foundation, Didsbury location, via their online donation site or by calling their office 403-210-4600.
