One of the best days of our lives was when my brother, Doug, introduced us to the love of his life, Louise. She was the most lovable, generous, caring person. A big regret was not being able to say goodbye. So now I will wait until I can say hello. Rest in peace, we love you. ~ Pat Scherck
A dear friend for almost 50 years Louise will be sadly missed. We went through life for many years enjoying her company, friendship and sense of humour. Many overseas trips with her and Doug were experienced together. We laughed, shared meals and conversation, had more than the odd glass of wine together as we toured the world both on land and sea. We loved dear Louise and were looking forward to after-COVID times to have fun, learn things, and enjoy each other's company. Instead, we will donate in her name, and muse on her meaning to us, and keep loving her even though she isn't present as before. ~ Nereid Lake

What a terrific picture of Lou! She look so happy and that is how I want to remember her. I am glad Doug and Louise enjoyed so many holidays together and I am sure the memory will be a cherished one throughout the years. Doug, we are both so sad to hear about Louise. It was always fun talking on the phone and comparing details of our cruising world. We really enjoyed meeting up with you both in Las Vegas for that great day driving out on the desert. She will be sorely missed. ~ Garth & Lillian Liseth
From the first cruise around South America when we shared a dining table (and too much wine), to their visit to Sydney, then later a Fall cruise in Canada, it was such pleasure to enjoy the company of Louise and Doug. Louise loved to share her joy of travel, plan future trips and made everyone welcome when they met her, we will miss her! ~ Lesley and Terry
All of us who were fortunate enough to have Auntie Louise in our lives now have a hole that won't be filled. Her cheeky sense of humour, her banter, her compassion, and her love will all be missed dearly. She was the perfect hostess with any visit becoming a great experience due to the perfect connection she and Uncle Doug had. Her desire to be present with friends and family was contagious. Although my own family and life have not given opportunity to see you guys very much in the past years, the amazing and fond memories I have of Auntie Louise both as a kid and adult warm my heart so. We didn't get to spend as much time with Auntie Louise as we wanted too but when we did get to see her she was always full of warm hugs and smiles. Such a kind heart and beautiful soul, will be missed but we know we have another angel watching over us and the kids. ~ Rick & Kim Chamberlain
Oh dear Louise, such a shock to all of us, that you have left us too soon. We will forever remember your laugh and good counsel and advice often passed along to many of us. Your ever willingness to help out by doing travel research and great cooking skills- we always enjoyed our many years of dinner dates and much laughter over a cocktail or two. Drinkies were always coveted fun. Our travels around the world, too many to mention. We just travelled to Bora Bora and remember when you went snorkeling and the great picture I have of you in your snorkel mask gives us such a laugh - one our many great adventures travelling with you in our gang of travelers. Dear, dear Louise, can't believe you're gone from us too soon, you were a wonderful friend for over 50 years. Many laughs and wonderful experiences with you and Doug. I will miss the wonderful dinners at your place, the glasses of wine together and the baking you gave me to take home. Louise and I became friends in 1978 and for the next 40+ years we enjoyed each others company. Our all to infrequent visits to Doug and Louise's house were always a pleasure. Louise could be counted on to provide good counsel when problems arose at work or in your personal life. We shared many a good laugh during extended lunch hours. Oh, Louise, I was so sorry to hear of your passing, but I am so glad to add something important about you, that we all knew, but few had to say.....you took such good care of our dad, and we all know you kept him in line, in the best of ways. Remember when we were kids and you would growl at us for running around? It took years to get it that you rode us, and laughed about it, and the truth was that you put up with a lot, and we were blessed to have you in our lives.
