The world has lost a bright light. Michelle “Shelly” Lillianne Reavley, age 73 years, late of Balgonie, SK passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in Regina, SK.
She was predeceased by her husband Wesley, parents Ted and Mitzi St. Julien and sister Claudette. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Ted (Lisa), daughter Jodi, grandson Gibson, sister Suzanne (Dennis), best friend Leotta (Ken), as well as many family members and friends.
Although Shelly was born in Vancouver, B.C. on November 1, 1943 she grew up and attended school in Regina. She married Wes Reavley on June 1, 1963 and they settled in Balgonie where they raised their family and made it their lifelong home.
She started her career in banking. Later Shelly worked and was an activist for the members of The United Steelworkers of America where she bargained and implemented positive change. During this time, Michelle returned to her passion for art – in particular painting - which was her true gift to the world. Her subject matter ranged from mystical landscapes to thought-evoking spiritual settings. Her talent filled hearts and homes with strong visual interpretations left to the eye of the beholder.
Shelly was known for her kindness, warmth, and great sense of humor – always looking on the bright side of life. She wanted people to be happy and welcomed everyone into her home.
Her greatest joy was her children and her only grandson Gibson with whom she shared a special bond. He was her best buddy and the love of her life. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Joseph R.C. Church, (corner of Assiniboia St. and King St.), Balgonie, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shelly’s memory to the Regina Humane Society (www.reginahumanesociety.ca) to honor her love of animals.
