Gladys Fern Green

Gladys passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre surrounded by the family she loved so much. She was a Saskatchewan farm girl; born at Eston, the first of 5 children to Homer and Eva Lee of Glidden, SK. Gladys moved to Lousana, AB at the age of 16. Half way through grade 12, at 18, she was chosen to become a Correspondence Supervisor in Ashcroft and then Wooded Hills where she met life long friends. In 1949 she married Gordon Green; the one with whom she would farm, raise 3 girls and serve her family, church and community. Gordon and Gladys resided on the farm east of Lousana for over 50 years. They then moved to Lousana where they have enjoyed the past 10 years. Gladys is survived by her husband Gordon, daughters Verna and Carol, grandchildren; Greg (Betty), Teresa (Jeremy), Trevor (Lacey), Emmy (Sean), Julie (Curt), Tim (Jill), Matt, Brianna, Pam, Jill (Trevor), Alix, Carly (Jeff), Dusty, Cassandra and Ryan; great grandchildren, Wesley, Mae, Lillian, Sophie, Madison, Davin, Mikala, Mia, Kylie, Abby, Chloe, Emma, Rhett, Callum, Taydean and Brielle. She is also survived by her siblings, Clifford, Darlene, Delores and Donald; sisters-in-law Dorothy McWhan and Lois (Harold) Craig. She is predeceased by her parents Homer and Eva Lee and son-in-law Wes Jones, daughter Karen, son-in-law Rod MacLeod. A Memorial Service for Gladys will be held at the Lousana Community Hall on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 2:00 pm. I am so sorry to hear of Glady's passing. I have the fondest memories of the summers I spent at your farm. Gladys was a very special person. My heart goes out to you.
