Lyle Patrick Tarney

Born February 27, 1952, Wetaskiwin. Passed away August 18, 2013 at Northcott Care Centre, Ponoka. Lyle was raised in Leduc and Rimbey. He spent most of his working career as an autobody mechanic for about 30 years. After retiring from autobody, Lyle worked for Parks Canada at Rocky Mountain House, the Town of Rimbey at the arena in the winter, Paskapoo Park in the summer and at the seniors lodge in Rimbey (which he loved). Lyle enjoyed cross-country skiing, canoeing, travelling and being outdoors. In May of 2006, Lyle was diagnosed with Picks Disease. He went to live at Northcott Care Centre on March 18, 2010. Lyle is survived by his loving wife and good friend, Fern of Red Deer; his mother, Mary of Rimbey; brothers, Wayne (Linda) of Rocky Mountain House, Bob (Rhonda) of Rimbey; niece, Jodi Tarney of Calgary; step-daughter, Belva (Todd) Crozier; grandchildren, Kassidy and Wyatt of Renfrew, Ontario as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Lyle was predeceased by his father, Pat; his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Clara Moore and his paternal grandparents Emogene and  John Tarney. Cremation has been entrusted to Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services of Red Deer. No Funeral Service will be held. A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Northcott Care Centre, 4209 48 Ave, Ponoka, AB, T4J 1P4 or to the charity of your choice.

I was deeply saddened by the news of Lyle passing. My heart felt condolences to you and your family. We are sending our love he will be missed very much!!! We miss you Fern, Bentley hasn't been the same since you have left,you were a great neighbour/friend :)
