Messages:

After many, many years of friendship it is time to say goodbye to a SPECIAL and WONDERFUL friend. A friendship that has lasted decades. Val asked so little and gave so much. A person who saw only the good in people. Always willing to listen and never judge. You will be missed my SPECIAL FRIEND.

I cannot express my sadness for Vals passing. I remember the very first day that we met, Jodi and Val came into the hair salon right after Val moved in to Extendicare, I fell in love with her that very day. Val and I became instant friends, and eventually she came to work for me in the gift shop. We spent a great deal of time solving all the worlds problems over coffee as well as poured our hearts and souls out to one another. We shared lots of laughs and lots of tears, and even went to the Chuck wagon races together. As my career path changed and Val's health began to deteriorate we tried to stay close, even though the time between phone calls, texts and coffee began to stretch we still managed to pick up right where we left off. Val was one of the most understanding and supportive and faith driven people I ever knew. Her love for her family, friends and God were truly inspiring. I feel that I am truly a better person for knowing her and all of her family. I thank you Val for being a very special person in my life.

A rose once grew where all could see, sheltered beside a garden wall, And as they days passed swiftly by, it spread its branches, straight and tall. One day, a beam of light shone through a crevice that had opened wide. The rose bent gently toward its warmth then passed beyond to the other side. Now, you who deeply feel its loss, be comforted-the rose blooms there, Its beauty even greater now, nurtured by God's loving care. My sincerest sympathy for your loss. Val will be greatly missed. She was a wonderful and inspiring lady. May God bless and Keep you all Grace B
