Carol Myrel Fifield
February 3rd, 2021
Carol Fifield peacefully passed away in Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. She will be missed by sisters, Betty and Jean; her daughter, Teena; grandson, Mike; and her youngest daughter, Fiona; plus numerous nieces and nephews and extended friends and family.
Mom’s favorite poem was by Rudyard Kipling; “If”. Her music genre of preference was anything she could jive to, and the song was Beautiful Dreamer, and hymn was Whispering Hope. The Bette Midler song “Wind Beneath My Wings” also held a special place in her heart.
Clearly the best colours were coral and lilac, and the flower that brought her joy was sweet peas. She loved to read, sew, cook, dance, garden and sing, she was intelligent, and generous. She helped whenever and wherever she could. Her sense of justice, loyalty and fierce bravery took her down several adventurous paths including helping a ranch-hand escape back to his country and a lawsuit in support of people on AISH. She believed in the love of children, family, nature, and god.
A quote directly from her on how she wants to be remembered; “I want to be remembered as a sincere, caring person. I have always been emotional. I am an incredibly determined, hard-headed person. I love little children, nature, visiting and hearing funny jokes. I like quiet, the darkness of night, a nice gentle rain and the sound of wood burning. I love looking at and listening to the birds in the spring and summer. I like a view of the mountains, listening to a river flow over rocks and Sunday drives in the country. I love to do canning and make good pies. Loved having family and friends home, with time for visiting and games.”
She passed away with the bravery and honesty with which she lived.
She looked forward to dancing with her predeceased beloved husband, Don.
