Marj leaves behind to mourn, her beloved husband of 58 years, Don Sr.; her son, Donnie (Linda); daughter, Alana; grandsons, Dallas (Anna), Dylan (Erin) and Lyle (Ceilidhe); granddaughters, Tyller (Carter), Andrea (Jarret) and Alicia (Traviss); 5 great grandchildren, Haylie, Tatum, Arie, Devyn, and Remmington; siblings, Deb (Blair), Bob (Linda), Wayne, Lorna, Cheryl, Donna and Lorne; as well as many nieces and nephews. Marj is predeceased by her parents, Gertrude and James; her sisters, Mary and Gerry; and brothers, James, David and Harry.
After retiring from the Government of 40 plus years, she could not just sit still so She went to work side by side with grandson Dallas at his shop Wildside Hobby. even after her 2019 diagnosis with cancer, she loved to keep busy. Marj's sense of style was shared by her daughter, Alana and granddaughter, Tyller which included a few shopping trips to places like Seattle for Black Friday. Travel was also a big part of their lives to such places as Hawaii,
Cuba, Vegas, and Newfoundland; taking cruises and to Louisiana for her interest in the plantations. Marj loved cooking Holiday meals for her Family with a few special meals on a Tuesday. She loved Country music and Rock and Roll (Kiss). The Acreage was also her Happy place. Her knowledge of gardening was impeccable which she would gladly share with family. She was a true hostess and loved to entertain. Cards were also her passion and kicking butt at the poker table came very easy to her; and if you walked into their home, pretty much a guarantee you would find her and Gido playing a serious game of crib. Marj loved her family and friends, her sense of style and grace and humor will never be forgotten and will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary the Protectress, 16578 TWP Rd 652 (Caslan/Noral Cemetry). A Celebration of Life for Marj in Red Deer, Alberta will be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society at https://cancer.ca/en.

So sorry to hear of Marj’s passing. There are many fond memories of visits at the Caslan farm, her sense of humour and generous laugh and strong presence. As the neighbour kid, I will always appreciate (as I’m sure my mom did) both Marj and Don’s generosity, letting me get an after-school ride back to the crossroads, that allowed some extra-curricular activity. Rest In Peace.
Sending our sincere condolences to Don and family. ( from your Crib friends at Downtown house)
