Guy Vincent Wilson
May 24th, 2021
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Guy Vincent Wilson on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Red Deer Hospice with his wife Roberta, at his side.
Guy was a loving husband, father, brother, son and friend. He was generous, humble, kind and committed to God and family. Guy lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for his infectious laugh. He loved the outdoors and was passionate about fishing and hunting. He also spent many hours at the gym and working on his car. He was a father figure and mentor to many.
Guy was born in Salmon Arm and grew up in the Okanagan. As a young man he moved to Edmonton and started his career in ironwork. He joined the Calgary Police Service in 1988. In 2001 he returned to ironwork, starting his own business Colt Reinforcing, then CVW Industries in 2005. Guy’s dedication and hard work contributed to many structures in Central Alberta and more.
Guy is lovingly remembered by his wife, Roberta; son, Colten (Amanda); step-daughters, Kaylee (Dan), Brenna (Jordan); granddaughters, Adella and Juliet; his mother, Trudy; sisters, Charmaine and Mona (Kevin); brothers, Shane (Gloria) and Shawn (Bonnie); as well as his aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph, in 2008.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Home Church on Monday, July 5, 2021 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Guy’s name to the Red Deer Hospice https://www.reddeerhospice.com/donate.html or Destiny Christian School https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/destiny-christian-academy/ .
The family would like to thank all those who supported Guy and Roberta through this difficult journey, with a special thanks to the staff at the Red Deer Hospital and the Red Deer Hospice.
Messages:
I just became aware of Guy's passing and it has brought back a flood of memories. Guy was one of those individuals that seemed bigger then life. I will never forget my time working with Guy and how he would have me laughing all shift long. Guy was just a guy you could count on no matter how bad the situation was during our time with the CPS. My thoughts with all of Guy's family.
Our condolences go out to Roberta and family. Such an outgoing personality with an infectious laugh. Rest easy Guy
Guy will be very much missed Roberta. You guys are in our prayers
Sorry for you loss Roberta and family, you have been in my thoughts daily. He had such a great laugh and back in the day was very protective which you knew he cared and would lend a helping hand when needed. Gone way too young!! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers ♥️
Our condolences to Roberta and the family. Guy's humble spirit, generous nature, and sense of humour were gifts to all who knew him. As a former member of CPS, I know that his character was very much appreciated and respected within the force. I particularly liked the way he made up his own lyrics to songs. May the healing Spirit of God embrace you during this difficult time. We pray also for the repose of Guy's soul. May he rest forever in eternal peace. So sorry for your loss.
