Warren St. Onge

December 19th, 2014

Our loving husband and father was taken far too early from us, at the age of 59 years, on Friday, December 19, 2014. Born April 11, 1955, in Estevan, SK, Warren grew up in Torquay, SK, before moving to Regina with his family in his late teens. He spent the remainder of his life in Regina where he was actively involved in the music and film industries. Warren was also very passionate about golf and truly enjoyed spending time with his brothers and friends on the golf course. He loved watching hockey with Louise and cheering for “his Habs”.

Warren was predeceased by his mother, Margaret.  He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Louise (nee Plosker); daughter Erin (Curtis Larson); sons Daniel (Justine Martin) and Thomas (Alyshia Chobot); father Ron; brothers Rick (Donna), Marvin and Mark (Terri); sisters Brenda Ott (Mo) and Joan Donaldson (Mike); as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no funeral service; Warren’s family will have a private celebration of his life.

We would like to give a special thanks to Warren’s nurse, Jennifer, at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, as well as the team of caregivers at Grace Hospice who were so gentle and kind to Warren during his final days. Donations in memory of Warren may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre (http://www.saskcancer.ca/), or the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice (http://www.williamboothregina.ca/donations.htm).

Messages:

My heart goes out to Louise and family. I was so close to Warren; friends since about 1974. He was a mentor, and always brought out the best in me in the studio. I was glad I could spend some quality time on the lake with him, and in your home, shortly before his passing. I will always remember and love you, my brother.

Dear Louise, My heart aches for you with the loss of your husband. My sincere sympathy to you and your family during this sad time.

Our deepest condolences Louise, Erin, Daniel and Thomas. Our thought and prayers are with you. We share in your loss of a Great Man, Husband, Father and Freind. We will always remember that tilt of head and the enevitable question to follow. We feel honered that we were a chapter in his life. We love you bro. Wayne, Vernetta and Family

My deepest sympathy to you Louise and your family. May your memories be a great comfort to you and your family.

Dear Louise and Family, my heart and prayers go out to you all. May you cherish and hold onto the precious memories, love and laughter you shared. Love Jo-Ann

Warren touched a lot of people so what can I say that hasn't already been said? I first came to know Warren professionally through his work at Inner City Sound, later at Talking Dog. He taught me how to use ProTools (and subsequently hired me to edit dialogue). I still use ProTools in my job at Rawlco radio to this day), he taught me about sound recording, both in-studio with bands and on film set locations. He taught me a lot about golf, a passion we both shared ... but none of that is as precious as the fact that he taught me how to be a decent human being and a good friend ... how to support someone without being judgmental but at the same time, to say what needs to be said. He wasn't more than about 5'6" but I always, always looked up to him. There will be a void in my life, and the lives of many others. I love you brother.

Warren will make all the angels in heaven sound terrific !! Ken

I enjoyed working with Warren over the years. He'll make all the angels in Heaven sound real Good !! Ken

Our sympathies go out to Warren's family and in particular his dad Ron. We just found out he was sick and he is so soon gone (same age as Arlene was...Mike's mother). I pray that God takes away your heartache and heals the pain your family is experiencing now.

To Louise and Family. I'm so sorry to hear of Warren's passing. Couldn't believe it when I first heard it. Don't know what to say. Warren was great to be around. I hadn't seen him in a while, but it was always fun when I did. I'll miss him. Once again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Joan, Mike and Family - Our condolences on the loss of your brother. Embrace the memories.

Louise, I am so sorry to hear about Warren's passing, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time... May the love and support of family and friends carry you through this journey... Love Deb

I am sorry for your loss. Warren was many things to many people. His calm demeanor always brought out the best in everyone. I first met Warren when he worked at St Johns. I had the honor of recording 5 compact discs with his superior engineer skills. Such a talent.

Louise, Erin, Dan and Tom, Just read about Warren and wanted to express our deepest sympathy during such a difficult time.

Although it's been many years, it was an honour and a pleasure to know and work with him.

Dearest St. Onge family, I met our Warren when he was doing sound for a CBC show called InSecurity. It was the first show on national TV that I had been cast as a lead in and I was incredibly nervous and excited. As soon as we arrived on set in Saskatchewan, I felt like we were home. The crew was such a welcoming sincere fun group of people and it felt like we were all at camp together. Every day we would show up and report in to Warren's landing pad of sound and he would be there with his serene presence and warm smile. He was patient, sweet and a wonderful fellow. I know he spent a lot of time listening to our ridiculous antics on set and probably many more ridiculous stories off set. I'm sure many days we gave him an earful! Yet there he was day in day out on his peaceful lily pad of sound. We will miss him dearly and send you and your whole family healing sound waves and love. Thank you for your impact on our lives, Warren. We miss you.

Hi Louise, i'm so sorry and shocked. Had no idea Warren was sick. He was so special and although I haven't been close the last few years, I will miss him very much. My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family.

Dear Louise, I am so sorry and saddened to hear of Warren's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. May you be comforted by the outpouring of love surrounding you.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the St. Onge family. Eric and Linda Slotsve

What a great guy. He was always good for a quiet visit on the set to talk about the Habs. He will be missed by many many people who knew, respected and loved him in the film community all over North America. deepest condolences to Louise and the family.

Louise, Erin, Dan & Tom Please know that I share in the sadness & loss of your dear Husband & Father. I will forever cherish the memories of watching Warren grow up, seeing him almost on a daily basis for the first 10 years of his life. He was probably one of the few people who was passionate about his work. His quiet, sincere nature will be greatly missed.

Louise and family: Very sorry for your loss. Warren was a great guy. First met him when we used to do one-nighters and rented vehicles from Penny's. Later had the privilege of working with him in the studio and audio-post in the film industry. He will be missed by many. My condolences.

Dear St. Onge Family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Accept out heart felt condolences.

Dear Louise and Family, I was so very saddened to hear of Warren's passing. He was such a calm, patient person in the studio, always with that sweet little smile... I am proud to say that he was the recording engineer for my first two solo albums and working with him was a dream! I hope through time, that your grief can fade and be replaced with rich memories of this wonderful man. With love and sympathy to all of you, Roberta Nichol

Dear Louise Thinking of you and your family at this difficult time. Shed some tears, celebrate the memories and special times, and always have things to look forward to. Wayne

Remembering Warren & his love for sports. Watched the young St.Onge boys playing whatever whenever in a "green space" just between our place and theirs. Also, often we'd watch for the credits after a TV production when we realized that Warren worked for the media. Our sincere sympathy, Lawrence & Janet Ehrmantraut

This is sad news. Warren probably didn't know it, but he played a big part in my early life and helped to influence me musically; something I am ever grateful for. I can truly say that my life was made better having know Warren. Two quick memories: 1.) Warren engineering my audition tape to McGill University late at night after a long day of work 2.) Having a chicken ball fight (yes, chicen ball) in the snow on the roof (yes, the roof) of the Landmark hotel Thanks Warren....

Louise, please accept my heartfelt condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I hope the love of family and friends will comfort and strengthen you in the days and months ahead.

Dear Louise and family - Thinking of all of you. Warren was a wonderful person and he will be greatly missed. May memories of times shared together help to ease your sorrow.

So sorry for your loss. Warren was a class guy with the most amazing ability to create quality sound. One of a very few people who I truly trusted his opinion. Our times at St. Johns Music were a laugh a minute with a great group of guys. Torquee Stonge-We will miss him.

Our heart breaks with yours; you have the best angel looking out for you now. May God be with you and your family in this time of sorrow and know that you are not alone.

We are so sad. Warren was a wonderful person, father and husband. Deepest sympathies to you and your family, Louise. Love from Jan and Stu.
