Noel Roger Guay

October 6th, 2018

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our husband, father, and grandfather Noel Guay. He passed away on October 6, 2018 at the age of 80 years. He is survived by his wife Joyce Guay; his daughters Cindy Greenwood (Scott Greenwood), Lynn Guay, and Pamela Guay; his grandchildren Daniel Oliver (Ani Cannon), Cassia Johnson, Bethany Johnson (Travis Tymryk), Haley Guay, and Jade Greenwood.  He was predeceased by his grandson Elias Johnson and his mother Mary Guay.

Noel was adopted in 1942 by his great-grandfather Ovide Guay and his wife Mary Guay. Noel spent his early years living in St. Lazare, Manitoba. Joyce and Noel met in Spiritwood, SK at a barn dance when Noel was working in Spiritwood. Noel and Joyce Guay got married May 1, 1965. They made three beautiful children that have grown to lovely extended family. Noel spent most of his days fishing, camping, and enjoying time with his family. Noel loved cooking, fishing, and cracking all the jokes. Noel was always very social, enjoyed meeting new people, and always enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially at the Serbian Club. Noel had a sense of humour that always kept people laughing well into his last days. When speaking of the Labour Day games, Noel always ensured we knew that the Riders were going to lose to his team, the Winnipeg Bombers.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 315 Douglas Avenue E., Regina, SK.

You are invited to view a special video tribute of Noel at: https://youtu.be/9lMDQ3Mpkuk

 We love you so much.

Dearest Pam and family, I have come to find out today of Noel's passing. Noel was such a wonderful, genuine, and caring man. I recall Noel being very strategic in ensuring a veteran, Cecil Graham was receiving the adequate benefits which he was entitled to. Your father was this wonderful gentleman's advocate, and in doing so had improved the quality of Cecil's quality of living with the additional income services he was eligible for! Mr. Guay a true and caring man! An absolute privilege to have known Noel. Keep your hearts light with the wonderful memories you all have.

So sorry to hear of Noel,s passing. Remembering many great times together. Our thoughts are with you Joyce and your extended family.

Our deepest condolences to all the Family Every time I think of your Dad it’s the bear and the frying pan story!!❤️

So sorry for your loss. Noel was a great neighbour and friend. I will always remember the fun conversations we had! I will never forget how he used to like to surprise us in the middle of winter by showing up at our door with fresh caught just barbecued outside fish! Nothing ever tasted better than a surprise meal provided by a generous neighbour! Not to many people hope for winter in heaven but I think God will have a little patch of it for Noel to ice fish!

A great guy, funny and always wonderful to visit, fish and camp with. Thank you Noel for being an example of grit with great attitude. My deepest sympathy to Joyce and all the families.

We extend our condolences to you Pam and all of your family. I am truly sorry for your loss and also that I can't be there in person for you and your family. Noel was a great man, he will surely be missed. Rest In Peace.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Guay and families. May beautiful memories help to get you through this trying time and hold space in your heart to draw on whenever you need Noel to lighten your mood and warm your thoughts. He will be always with you, cheering you on and holding you up. With Love and Prayers.

Our deepest sympathy is extended to Joyce and the families. Noel was a fellow filled with joy. He was never the type of person to complain about anything. His words were and I quote “ there is always someone else worst off than I am”. Noel you will be missed and may you Rest In Peace.
