Betty Jean Walton (Derkson)

Betty Jean Walton (Derkson) passed away peacefully in the Regina Pasqua Hospital on Thursday, February 28, 2019 surrounded by family and friends.
She is survived by her eldest son Derwin (Heidi) and grandchildren Jade, Kyla-Dawn, Joshua, Michael, Larissa, Jenaya, Autumn-Rose, Ember, Zachary, Derikkah, and great-granddaughter Annaleah-Rose; Marlon (Cheryl) and grandson Steven; grandchildren Megan, Dane, Riley, and great-grandchildren Kya-Rae, Phoenix, and Titan; her twin sister Patricia Sullivan; sister Mavis Derkson (George); brothers Leonard Derkson (Lou) and Kelvin Derkson; sisters-in-law Shirley Derkson and Darcy Lefebvre; numerous nieces, nephews, and treasured friends. Betty was predeceased by her son Gregory Derkson; husbands Harley Machan and Bill Walton; her great-granddaughter Lila Hunter-Derkson; brothers Don Derkson, Garry Derkson, and Richard Derkson; sister Reta Lillie; and parents Cornelius and Anna Derkson.
Betty was born on July 25, 1942 in Indian Head, Saskatchewan. She completed her schooling in Indian Head and later moved to Regina. She lived in Ontario for 6 years and then moved back to Regina.
She enjoyed her time working at the hospitals in Regina. Betty had a passion for her cats, her yard, and Johnny Reid. Her relationship with God was the most important thing in her life as well as her family and her friends. She loved spending time in her garden and tea time with family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in Wellsprings Victory Church, 1625 Montreal Street, Regina, SK. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
A warrior is that person who gets up despite the enemy trying to destroy them, someone who declares victory before seeing it, someone who believes they will receive their miracle because they know the Lord they serve is alive and by their side.
