Victor Edenoste

June 30th, 2020

Victor Edenoste, late of Regina, Saskatchewan, long time resident of Earl Grey, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully of esophageal cancer at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 89 years.

Vic (Barney) was predeceased by his parents Henry and Anna; his siblings twin sisters in infancy, Lena, Bertha (Bill) Wagner, Edward (Louise), Frank, and Evelyn (Bob) Saunders.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosemarie; sons Ross (Darlene), Neil (Georgia), and Tom (Claudette); four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Vic was a grateful member of AA, achieving nearly 55 years of sobriety. A much-loved chore of his was driving his half ton in the pasture checking his cattle. For many years he belonged to the Saskatchewan Hereford Association. Through it he was able to travel on the plane hauling Saskatchewan Herefords to Chile and travelled to an Agricultural Fair in Hungary which displayed Saskatchewan Herefords.

He and Rosemarie spent 26 winters in Mesa, Arizona. There he usually rode his bike to the woodworking shop where he found a new hobby. He also found out why Polish people love to dance.

A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date in the Earl Grey Cemetery, Earl Grey, Saskatchewan.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Vic may be made to the Mizpah Group of Earl Grey or the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan.

Our deepest condolences to you and your family on your loss. From myself and Calvin Newman.

So sorry for your loss, Vic was a wonderful man.

To the Edenoste family. Please accept my deepest sympathy on the death of my friend Vic. Vic was highly respected by and an excellent example to all of us who attended AA meetings with him at the Lumsden Valley group over many years. The fact that Vic would have been 55 years sober on August 2 was a true testament to the quality of his sobriety and his life.

I just heard this morning that Vic had passed away. I am so sorry. It immediately brought back his kindness to Jack when he was so sick. In helping with the cattle when they were calving and helping him otherwise as well. I will never forget his kindness. And the calls he went on with him and the good visits they had together. Please tell your boys how my heart goes out to them and so much to you. I don’t know your address or I would have written. My love to you all Janie
