Bill was predeceased by grandparents George and Elvie Laidlaw; William and Ethel Halliday; and father Bob Halliday.
Bill was a man of many talents; not limited to singing in a band (A Stitch-in-Time) in earlier years while in Toronto and a self-taught guitarist. He was offered golf and hockey scholarships in the United States but after lengthy debate he chose the hockey scholarship in Providence Maine where he took Engineering. He met and became good friends with hockey player Darryl Sittler. While in the States Bill also played Lacrosse in Philadelphia during the off season. He also served in the Vietnam War while in the USA as a Helicopter Pilot. After his tour ended, Bill ended up returning to British Columbia, Canada and eventually settled down in Regina, Saskatchewan. Bill was a passionate pool player, softball player and enjoyed a good game of crib with friends and family. Bill was also an entrepreneur and had multiple businesses: A-Line Moving and Storage, Action Bottle Pickup and Prairie Window Cleaning. Bill was also a Semi and Taxi driver for many years. Throughout all the years Bill has always maintained the mindset of helping others whenever possible. Bill is loved and will be missed by many.
A Come and Go Celebration will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Gathering Place, 4001 – 3rd Avenue North, Regina, Saskatchewan.
Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial donations may be made to the Regina Humane Society.
My sincere condolences to the family. I am Bill's sister's childhood friend who lived across the street from the Halliday family. Wishing you much love and strength with the loss of your beloved Bill.
