Born in Moosomin, Saskatchewan, Art moved to Imperial and then to Zelma at an early age. When Art finished school he moved to Saskatoon and worked at the Wheat Pool for 20 years. While there, Art took a correspondence course in accounting. He did books for several companies in Saskatoon – Burron Lumber, Ben Campbell at Home Hardware, as well as a trucking company and Andy Ingram.

Art was also a member of the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club for 20 years. He loved his curling and was a well-known curler throughout the province and was a member of the Granite Curling Club for 20 years.

After moving to Delisle, Art continued his curling in Men’s & Mixed league and served on the Board of the Delisle Curling Club for a few years. He also did the books for Senior and Junior “B” Hockey Clubs for 4 – 5 years. Art proudly served on the Delisle Town Council for 17 years.

Art went into the Insurance business in 1977 and ran the Colonsay Insurance for 3 years before purchasing Delisle Agencies in Delisle in 1980 and ran it until retiring in 2012.

Art loved his golf and was one of the investors in the Delisle Golf Club. Art also loved a good party and he & Audrey hosted many parties at their home, where Art would fire up the BBQ and cook a “mean steak”. He was also an avid gardener and loved trying new varieties of vegetables which he would often share with their friends and family. Our thanks to the caring & compassionate ambulance personnel, medical staff at St. Paul’s Hospital and the home care workers.

Given the current Covid restrictions, a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
