Minnie Eva Kunitz
December 20th, 2020
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Minnie Eva Kunitz just short of her 96th birthday, due to complications from Covid-19.
Minnie was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Joseph, in 2002; her sister Emma (Bill) Dosdal, Theresa (Rudy) Ullman, and Lena (Cliff) McAfee; brother Rudy Frankl; brother-in-law George Sebastian; in-laws Annie (Charlie) Massier, Henry (Annette) Kunitz, Mike (Anna) Kunitz, John (Frieda) Kunitz, Nick (Martha) Kunitz, and Peter Kunitz.
She is survived by her children Faye (Jim) Buitenhuis, Donna (Garry) Bentz, Marvin (Penny) Kunitz, Brenda (Jack) Linford, Traci (Shaun) Gronick; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one sister Gladys Sebastian; one sister-in-law Caroline Frankl; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in the Torondal area, she married Joe and farmed in the area. They moved to Raymore and then to Kelliher where they owned and operated a cafe (Joes Lunch), later to return to live in Raymore for a few years. They moved to Regina where Minnie worked for Woolco for a time, retiring and living in her own home until her health caused her to get care.
Minnie enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing, quilting, gardening, and family times. There was always a big meal associated with any family gatherings, cabbage rolls and perogies were always on the menu. And who doesn’t remember the apple strudel.
A private graveside service will be held for immediate family only.
The family would like to thank the staff of Parkside Extendicare, Regina, SK for their compassion and care they have shown for the past 4 years.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at the family’s online obituary at: www.MyAlternatives.ca
