Norman August Schermann
November 15th, 2020
Norman August Schermann was born in Wilkie, Saskatchewan, and was educated at the Convent School in Leipzig, Saskatchewan. Norman had many Aunts and Uncles living in the area and therefore many cousins. One of the favourite activities was raiding the convent garden crab apple trees. These were then thrown at other students during class much to the nun's chagrin. If you were really good you did not get caught! Norman graduated in Wynyard, Saskatchewan. He then went on to work in the mining industry. He worked in mines at Manitouwadge, Ontario, as well as Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. He became a business owner in the restaurant industry for a few years and for a short time owned a leisure business. He retired in Regina and resided in Pioneer Village Hostel for the remainder of his years. He passed away peacefully on November 15, 2020 at the age of 79 years. He was predeceased by his parents; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers-in-law. Norman is survived by 5 brothers; 5 sisters; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, 1 great great-nephew and 3 great great-nieces. As per Norman’s wishes there will not be a funeral service. Flowers are gratefully declined. Please make a donation in Norman’s Memory to Diabetes Canada (https://www.diabetes.ca).
Norman was a good friend. He would speak up when others would be silent. I liked Norman as he was honest, gentle, kind and a thoughtful person.
