Reta Gibson
January 5th, 2022
Reta left this world to be with her heavenly father on January 5, 2022.
Reta was predeceased by her husband Leon Gibson and her sister Dorothy Beston. She leaves to mourn her passing her children Ernest Gibson, Lunette (Brian) Swystun, Heather (Larry) Wilks, Stacy (Robert) Dumont Kurtz; her sister Beryl Rapinchuck; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all.
Reta grew up on a farm close to Willow Bunch, SK and attended a one room schoolhouse in the district of Sharon, SK. Her trusted pony Chumy got her to school and home again every day.
Reta and Leon were married on December 11, 1948 and made their home in Regina, SK. They were a duo of many talents and energy. Together they built their own home and a cottage at Pasqua Lake, SK.
Reta was one of the first career mothers. In 1956, she joined the work force and worked her way up to the job of accountant. In 1971, while continuing to work she enrolled at the University of Regina. Reta studied for many years graduating with a degree in certified management accounting. She finally became who she was meant to be, Reta Gibson Accounting. She worked there with her staff and her daughter Stacy.
Reta was always busy with gardening, square dancing, sewing, making ceramic dolls, as well as traveling the world with friends.
We would like to extend our appreciation to Riverbend Crossing Memory Care Community, Regina, SK for the excellent service, friendship, love and care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Dear Lunette and Brian and your family, My sympathies to you on the passing of your mother and grandmother. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of change in your family life. Blessings, Mary Beth
