After retirement from the Air Force, he returned as a Commissioned Officer in 1988 leading training for air cadets across the province. He retired again in 2001 with the rank of Captain after a combined 47 years of service.
It was during his first post in Moose Jaw, SK that he met the love of his life Maxine Livingstone (nee Zopf). They were married in December 1956 and went on to have five children. They lived in many places across Canada, finally retiring in Regina, SK. He and Maxine had a property at Buffalo Pound Lake, SK that they enjoyed over the years, spending time boating and fishing on the lake and hosting visits with family. Chuck and Maxine loved dancing and traveling together, especially taking ocean cruises. Chuck and Maxine always enjoyed visits with their grandchildren and cheered them on whatever their interests.
The family would also like to acknowledge Gloria Buchanan who shared companionship with Chuck during the last years of his life. Gloria and Audrey were angels who cared for Chuck in his later years and the family is eternally grateful for the love and support they shared together.
