Kevin Playter

October 23rd, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kevin Playter on October 23, 2022 at the age of 54 years.

He will be greatly missed by his children Hayden (Sam), Taylor (Devin), and Reid; his parents Joan and Grant; his brother Tony (Pam); his niece and nephew Nicole (Lucas) and Austin; as well as many other close friends and family.

Kevin was born June 16, 1968 in Thompson, Manitoba. Throughout his entire life he loved sports – especially hockey and baseball. He started playing hockey at 5 years old and baseball at 7. Kevin would always be playing mini-sticks with his brother Tony in the halls or on the streets. This continued to his adult life with coaching hockey and baseball, volunteering for the Regina Pats, and collecting sports memorabilia. He passed along his love of sports to his children and would always be in the stands cheering them on.

Kevin also loved cars. He enjoyed watching Nascar and worked with a pit crew for Cascar in Saskatoon. He made a career working in the automotive industry for many years.

He was also an EMT for several years when he was younger, as he loved helping people. You could call Kevin for help on anything, and he’d come to the rescue no questions asked. He also loved animals, especially his late cat, Coco, and his dog, Zizi.

Kevin also loved fishing. He’d take his three children to Blackstrap, Silver Springs, or even the Saskatoon Forestry Farm. Occasionally, he would even bring the fish home to cook as he also loved cooking.

In his spare time, Kevin enjoyed word search puzzles and watching TV or movies. He loved cooking shows and medical shows, like Master Chef and Emergency. Some of his favourite movies were Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Cars.

We will cherish all the times we spent with Kevin, as he made each one of them special.

A Celebration of his Life will take place on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace Parish, 425 Broad Street North, Regina, SK.

A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations towards the Canadian Cancer Society or the Regina Humane Society.
