Barbara Jane Smith
April 16th, 2022
Barbara Jane Smith passed away on April 16, 2022 in the place she loved most dearly, surrounded by the family she cherished.
Barb was predeceased by her mother Violet and father Lloyd, husband Hardy and sister Irene. She will be remembered forever by her children Shauna (Trevor) Piluk and Shane (Janette) Smith; her most precious granddaughters Brittney, Ashley, Courtney and Leah; sisters Isabel and Candace; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Barb’s passion was her family. She was a loving, patient caregiver. To her grandchildren she was the world. Barb was most at home at her lake property which she proudly built alongside Hardy. She was a talented singer from the time she was very young. She loved music and singing with her family. Barb most enjoyed playing board games or cards with her family and friends. She will be missed forever but as Barb always said to everyone, “Bye, Bye for now”.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
The family thanks everyone for their kind words through this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Barb’s memory to the Canadian Lung Association.
Messages:
Deepest Sympathy to Shane & Shauna & their families at this difficult time.
Shauna, Shane & Families We are so very sorry for your loss. Your mom was a lovely lady - so kind, friendly and always with a big smile. I(Russ) lived with your mom & dad when I moved to Regina to work in the elevator trade & worked with your dad for many years. We enjoyed their company and have many fond memories from spending time with them.
So sorry to hear about your mom/grandma. We know you all will be comforted by the many great memories you have. Barb was always so happy, kind and friendly.
Sorry for your loss. Hugs to you and your family
To Barb’s family - we were so sorry to read of the loss of your precious Mom and Grandma. She was a beautiful soul and an answer to prayer many years ago when we were looking for someone to babysit our son. She was the right person at the right time. Barb was so patient, kind and loving. We will never forget how when we needed someone with her empathy so desperately she was there and stepped into that role as caregiver. She hadn’t even advertised looking for kids to babysit - but her neighbour across the street told us about her. I called Barb and explained how I got her name - and she just said yes I’ll look after your son - and he loved her. What a great blessing Barb was to our family. Praying for you as you grieve the loss of a very very special lady. The Kessler’s
