Pansy Lois Parkins

November 24th, 2011

Pansy Lois Parkins, 77, of Granum, Alberta passed away Thursday, November 24, 2011.  Lois (meaning warrior) fought very hard to recover from a necessary surgery, but succumbed, leaving behind a family who had the utmost love and respect for her.

Lois was born in Glentworth, Saskatchewan. Lois resided in Granum with her husband Raymond whom she was married to for 47 years.  She leaves behind her husband Raymond; 3 daughters, Debra (Barry) Owens, Tammy (Jud) Morissette and Roxanne (Ed) Travaglia; six grandchildren, Chad, Cameron, Carly, Nick, Ally and Ciana; 3 great grandchildren, Jesse, Quincy and Allen James (AJ); 2 brothers, Jerry and Barry Williams as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Louise Saunders and father Raymond Williams; 3 sisters Diane, Betty and Donna.

Lois was a very outgoing and sociable woman, who had a great zest for life.  She loved her friends, especially Jackie.  She was an excellent softball player in her teenage years playing first base and pitcher.  She continued her love of softball later in life coaching a group of young girls in Calgary, again winning many championships.  She was a fantastic dancer even though she was hearing impaired; she had an innate sense of rhythm.  She lived for her grandchildren who were the light of her life.  She loved people.  She volunteered for many years in Granum at the community centre working with children.

She will be deeply missed.  We love you.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Messages of condolence may be left for the family.

Messages:

Ray,and all you girls, We are very sorry for your loss of Twiggy as we knew her, she was a wonderful friend to us as well as loved our three kids as her own grandchildren. We have had many a laugh with her and shed a few tears all through the 20 some years we have known her. She always had her door and her heart open for anyone, what a blessing it was to call her a friend. Although we will miss her she is now no longer suffering and that is what my friend did for awhile. Smile on my friend - we will never ever forget you and we will see you again one day. Love The Cogswell Family.
