Patricia Jane Reeve
December 7th, 2011
Pat Reeve (nee Arthur) was born in London, Ontario and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7th, 2011 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta.
She is survived by her son Doug Drinkwalter; daughter Jane (Peter Sutherland) Reeve, as well as many grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Andrew in 2002.
For most of her life, Pat was a grade 9 and 11 high-school math teacher at K.C.I. in Kitchener. She earned her Math Specialist designation in 1988 and loved being in the classroom teaching and working with students. She had a passion for promoting mathematics to young women.
She was a generous and fun mother who approached life with a sense of adventure. She often had a story to share about her family, travels to Europe, Egypt and Western Canada, or working at the Banff
Springs Hotel when she was young. She always had a positive outlook on life even when faced with adversity. She loved reading, tennis, photography and spending time with her many groups of friends. She especially liked the beach, sunsets and general cottage life during her many summers at Oakwood in Grand Bend. Her loving, caring and courageous nature continued to shine through even in her final years as she battled Alzheimer's disease.
A private
"sunset" memorial will be held at a later date.

Hello Jane, Please accept my deepest condolences. I knew your mom at KCI and always found her to be a very gracious lady. I remember our KCI Ladies' June get togethers, and especially the one where we travelled to your cottage for the day. I also remember the KCI Ladies' Christmas get together at your home. They were both memorable days with lots of laugher. Your mom was a kind and welcoming hostess. Nina Ingrey, KCI teacher, Waterloo
Jane, I was so sorry to see your mother's obituary in the KW Record this morning. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time and I'm sure that the past few years must have been hard. I have so many great memories of your mom at the ringette arenas and I'll always remember her smile and her laugh! She always had so many interesting things to talk about...it was always so great to bump into her because you always had a great time catching up. She was such a strong woman and hopefully, all of the great memories that you have of her will help during the rough times. I had heard that your mom had Alzheimers because I meet with Shannon Harrigan whenever she's in Waterloo. My family had been thinking about you and your mom often. Take care Jane. Anne Reynolds
To Pat's Family... I would like to express my deepest sympathy. I taught at KCI with Pat when I was a student teacher in the math department. There is no question that she was one of the most friendly people that I met. She would always go out of her way to say hello, even during the busy times at school. Her friendly and social nature certainly continued after she retired, as she would join us at department parties, and would love to stay in touch with people. I am so sorry that we lost such a genuine person, but our lives are better since Pat has been a part of them. Patrick Kennedy
