Phyllis Jean Douslin
December 27th, 2013
Jean passed away on December 27th at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary, Alberta. Along with her husband Lawrence, Jean moved to Alberta in the summer after having spent a lifetime in Milden and most recently the Rosetown area. They enjoyed being closer to family and were embraced by the residents of Luxstone Manor in Airdrie. A simple gathering will be held on January 11th in Carstairs, Alberta to remember a wonderful wife, mother and friend. The Memorial will be held at Carstairs Bancroft United Church, beginning at 12:00 pm. There will also be an opportunity to share remembrances and visit with the family in Milden in the spring, when interment is planned.

We are very saddened to hear of Jean's passing....when we moved from Guelph Ontario to Saskatoon in 1979...we were welcomed by Jean and Lawrence..they were our home away from home. We remember driving out to the farm in Milden, trying to figure out the "grid" roads...but we made our way.. We always had a good visit and remember Jean's home baked bread, handmade tea towels and the garden....we have not been back to Saskatoon for many years, but have always enjoyed keeping in touch with Lawrence and Jean every year around Christmas time....and we enjoyed our Christmas letter from them this year and had planned to phone after the holidays as our son who lives in B.C. was married Dec 31st here at home and we had a house full of people right up until yesterday. Today we were looking up the phone number for Luxstone Manor as Jean had written that she and Lawrence had moved...and we tried to look up if they had a phone number...we came across this sad news. Our condolences to the entire family. If Lawrence has a phone number at his residence we would love to phone him if he is up to it...please pass along this message to him. Dan & Nadine Harwood
