Barbara Kinzel

Barbara Kinzel announces her passing on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the age of
83. Barbara was born in Zlate Maravce, Slovakia and immigrated with her young
family to Calgary from communist Czechoslovakia in 1968. A fiercely political
person, she was the instigator in bringing her family to Canada in the search
for freedom. She and her husband Robert worked hard to start a new life in
Canada, and at the end of her life she was truly proud of what they had
achieved. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 2003; and also
brothers, Wilhelm and Georg. She is survived by brothers Jan Rosenberg in
Germany and Milan Rosenberg in Czech Republic. Barbara will be dearly missed by
sons, Zdenek and Andy (Amanda) and daughter, Jarka Hubac (Miro). She was a
loving and devoted grandma (Babi) to grandchildren, Miro (Lisa), Justin,
Richard, Christine, Christopher and Monica; as well as proud great-grandma to
Mila and Gabriela. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and most of
all, cooking everyone’s favorite meals. She will be sadly missed by many
friends and relatives. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 1,
2013 at 1:00pm, Bonaventure Parish, 1600 Acadia Drive SE, Calgary.
