Kenneth Ward McCracken

Ken McCracken passed away peacefully at his home after a long battle with cancer on June 13, 2013 at the age of 57 years. Ken is lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Ken started McCracken Insurance in Airdrie in 1986. Ken enjoyed his time spent at the office and the friendships that were built with his customers, he was an avid golfer, never missed a day on the course, he also enjoyed hockey and he will always be remembered for his time and dedication to coaching Airdrie Minor Hockey. For anybody that knew Ken, they will always remember his sense of humor, his joy was making people laugh. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Airdrie Town & Country Centre, 275 Jensen Drive on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 4:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Ken’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200, 325 Manning Rd. NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 3T6. The family requests that if you have any good memories or pictures of Ken, that you please bring them to the Celebration of Life.

We are very sorry and sadden with Ken's passing. He was a great person, always saw humour in things and was a very respected member within the Airdrie community as an individual and a business man. He was an awesome boss, making work fun and enjoyable. He looked after his customers very well. We know he was very proud of his family by the way he spoke of each of his children. My deepest sympathies go out to the McCracken family. I remember Ken as a great man and even better hockey coach. I will always cherish my memories having him help our team achieve many wins and championships.

I'm very sorry and sad to hear of Ken's passing. He coached my son Jesse at many hockey games and will be remembered for the many great laughs and memories that he helped to create. My condolences go out to Ken's family, a young life gone too soon. Michelle Grasley
