Raymond Dale Miko
October 17th, 2013
Raymond passed away suddenly on October 17, 2013 doing what he loved, tinkering on his pickup
in the garage. He is predeceased by his parents Rudolph and Edith Miko and his in-laws, George
and Evelyn Clarke. He is survived by his wife Karen of 30 years, Daughter, Jacqui of Red Deer, his son and Daughter in-law, Travis and Chantal DayMiko of Carstairs. Also 3 sisters: Linda Nessler of Leduc, Sheila (Dale) Eckert of New Sarepta, Angela(Dana) McGuigan of Camrose and 2 brothers, Rick(Linda) of Whitecourt and Chris(Leona) of Calgary. Also 69 nieces and nephews and numerous Aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Ray was born in Edmonton and also moved with his family and lived in British Columbia. Then moved back to Alberta and finished his schooling. He worked many different jobs before finding his calling as a truck driver. He drove for 30 years, including the last 12 years as a proud owner/operator, under the business name of R & K MIKO TRUCKING, until his illness forced him to shut it down. His interests were maintaining the trucks, watch-ing Barrett Jackson Auctions. He would be found at the local Show and Shines, checking out all the beautiful vehicles. He also loved camping with family, playing crib and just visiting with anyone. When his kids were younger, he helped coach Jacqui's baseball team and enjoyed watching Travis play for Didsbury Minor Hockey, as well as Triple 'A' PeeWee hockey for the Calgary Dynastars. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church, 5005 – 53rd Ave, Olds, AB on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Food banks or Angels Anonymous.
