Messages:

Dear Ross and Pat: Your mother sits comfortably on the happy side of my childhood memories. I have such great recollections of her and your father when they used to visit Herb and Cathy and come out to our farm. You were all so fortunate that she lived such a full life and remained free of physical pain for so long from what I understand. She was an incredible woman from an incredible family. Please accept my condolences on behalf of Hania, Kasia and John. Bruce Cookson, North Vancouver, British Columbia

Dear Ross and Pat and family: I hope that you will still get this message. When I think back to my childhood I have the usual mixture of sad, nostalgic and happy memories that I suppose is typical for everyone. Your mother definitely sits comfortably on the happy side of that memory ledger. I have many good memories of her and your father visiting my grandmother and the farm. Aunty Mary was really an incredible woman from a family of incredible women. I am glad that up until the end she lived a full life and that her old age was lived without physical pain from what I understand. So, please accept my condolences on your loss. Bruce Cookson, Vancouver, British Columbia

Ross, so sorry for your loss, but what a long life for your mother. She certainly saw and experienced a lot of things over this past century!

Dear Patricia and family, I was saddened to hear of Mary's recent passing. I truly feel privileged to have been involved in her care for several years prior to me closing my practice. I fondly remember Mary as someone with optimism, cheerfulness, and a great sense of humor. When she came to see me in the office, she always had a smile and I marveled at her energy and vitality. She is most certainly a woman who brought light and happiness to those around her. I am so sorry for your loss but hope that you can truly celebrate her life with your family and friends to support you. Kind Regards, Dr. Jackie McDougall

Ross, Pat and family, Mary was such an inspirational woman and amazing to have lived over 105 years. We still remember her as she walked around and served her 100th birthday cake to fellow residents at Arbour Lake Retirement Residence. Other memories of Mary are watching her carpet bowl and beating her fellow players, sharing a dinner table and watch her add salt to everything on her plate, as well as salting her bread and buttered bun! We offer our sincere condolences to Mary's family and we are thankful to have known such a wonderful woman. Candice and Dave Cook
