Kenneth James Norton

Kenneth James Norton (Whitey), 80 years old, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on March 12, 2013. Ken was born in Montreal on January 22,1933 and later moved to Calgary with his family in 1973. Ken worked as an elevator mechanic and was a member of the Canadian Elevator Industry Union. Ken enjoyed golfing and fishing and spent a number of his retirement years enjoying the game of golf. Ken was a very personable man and loved nothing more than a coffee and chat with friends, old and new. Ken also enjoyed spending time with his wife, especially their drives in the country. Ken is survived by his wife of 56 years, Audrey; sons, Tom (Carol) and Keith (Rosie); grandchildren, Stephanie (Jake),  Amy, Grant and Gillian; great granddaughter, Jayda; brothers, George (Georgette) and Jack (Joan) Norton, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 204, 2323 – 32 Ave., NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 6Z3. The family of Ken wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Unit 56 at Rocky View General Hospital, and also Dr. Wash. A Celebration of Life will be held at Braeside Community Center, 11024 Braeside Dr. SW, Calgary, AB on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 2:00 – 6:00 pm.

Keith/Rosie and Family, We are sorry to hear of the passing of Ken, although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, hold tight to all the good memories for comfort.

Our condolences on your recent loss of a loved one. We knew Ken for many years and spent pleasurable time with him over coffee at his favourite haunts in our neighbourhood.
