DONALDSON, O.J.

Oliver Joel (O.J.) Donaldson died peacefully on Tuesday, July 11, 2016 at the age of 36 years.

O.J. was born in Burlington, ON on December 18, 1979 and grew up surrounded by family and friends. He was a very spirited boy with a natural athleticism and a love for sports. As a boy, O.J. spent most of the time at the rink through competitive hockey. O.J. was a diehard Toronto Maple Leafs fan and remained so even when he moved to Calgary, AB as an adult. Gifted at working with his hands, he spent his life working as a Mechanic.

His pride and joy in this world was his son, Damien Jacob Donaldson, born October 31, 2008. O.J. will forever remembered by his Grandma and Nammie; his parents, Barbara (Lorne) and Peter (Marcia); his big sister, Bree (Ken); little sister, Quinn; nephews, Avery, Calumn and Kyan; his niece, Shaeleigh; aunts; uncles; cousins; and his girlfriend, Anna.

A small service will be held to remember O.J. at GoldenRod Community Hall west of Airdrie on the corner of Hwy 567 & Hwy 772 on Saturday, July 16, 2016. Doors will open at 1:00 pm and service will begin at 1:30. There will be refreshments and snacks to follow. This will be informal because that is the way O.J. would want it.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in O.J.’s memory to a trust fund for his son, Damien. For more information, please contact his sister, Bree 403.680.7339 or breedonaldson@shaw.ca
