Lisa Bankert passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the age of 42 years. She was born and raised in Calgary but her love for the country took her to areas around Olds where she passed away in a vehicle accident near Linden.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Joshua and Mason Flug (and their father Kristofor Flug) and Kayman Laliberte (and his father, Devon Laliberte); her loving parents, Paul and Alma Bankert; her siblings, Marianne, Richard, Darlene, Gavin (Ali), Tyson, Caleb and Micah. She is also survived by step-children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, whom she adored. Also mourning her loss is a special friend, Keith Zimmerman. Lisa was surrounded by friends with whom she had an innate way of making extended family.
Lisa had a love for animals and they were a big part of her life. Horses, dogs, cats, chickens, everything had a place in her heart and she always had time for a pet or cuddle. She was very talented and artistic. Her paintings are spectacular and reflect the essence of who she was. She was an avid gardener and loved to experiment with new varieties of vegetables. Summer was her season and flowers bloomed in her gardens.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 1:00PM at the Lutheran Church of the Master, 216 Main Street SE, Airdrie.
The family would like to thank the Three Hills RCMP and EMS. As well, thanks go out to many generous and kind people including the congregants at Whitefields Calvary Chapel. You have helped to carry the load and made this tragedy easier to bear.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Lisa’s memory can be made to any animal shelter or SPCA.
