Pierre Lemaitre

July 29th, 2013

It is with great sadness that we announce Pierre’s passing.  Born in Montreal Q.C., he was predeceased by his father Rene Lemaitre and his mother Ginette Dabe.

Pierre will be deeply missed by his wife Sheila, his sister Francoise, his daughters Christine and Anne-Marie, his nephew Julien, and his nieces Veronika and Charlotte.

Joining the RCMP in 1985 and attaining the rank of Sgt, Pierre served in the Force for 28 years.  He was highly respected by everyone who knew him.  He was a good man with an enormous heart.

A celebration of Pierre’s life will be held at the Fort Langley Golf Course on August 11th at 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, his family encourages those who wish to honor Pierre’s life to donate to the charity of their choice...or simply to “pay it forward” whenever possible as that was a philosophy that was very dear to Pierre’s heart.  Thank-you.

You are invited to leave a fond memory or message of condolence for the family.

Messages:

Shiela and family- It was only today that I stumbled on the news of Pierre's passing 2 years ago, and it has shaken me. Pierre and I were pit-partners at Depot during training and he left a strong and abiding impression with me because he was such a kind, decent, and good person. We studied together, and cleaned our pit together, and often ate together. We also talked and dreamed about our hopes for the adventures that our lives would bring after we left Depot. I hope that you and your family have been able to find some peace and comfort since Pierre's death, and that the grief has begun to fade, leaving only the happy memories of your life together. I wish you all happiness, Barry MacKnight P.S.- I think I have picture(s) of Pierre during training that I would like you to have, so, if you wish, please send me an email message and I will see that you get them.

Dear Sheila, I just happened to come across the bookmarked website of your kennel and found Pierre's obituary. We are so sorry for your loss, and I wish I had known sooner. We have one of your pups - Ruby, born June 12, 2010. She is definitely a red-headed female, and a big one at that. Her half-brother, Kenji and she get along as though they know they're related. Our best wishes to you as you carry on, and may your dogs be a source of companionship, love and devotion.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Pierre's passing. He and I got to know each other many years ago when he and his family spent part of their summers at Salisbury Beach, in Massachusetts. We stayed in contact for years, and then, as happens too often, fell out of touch. I was traveling on the Volga River in Russia several years back when I read his name and saw his photo in a Canadian newspaper. I tracked him down through the RCMP, and we were back in touch for a short time. I remember a thoughtful, reflective. caring individual who so often wanted to know why. My sincere condolences to his family.

I had the pleasure of training Pierre as he arrived in Kamloops after basic training at Depot Division Regina. He always possessed a strong sence of justice and pursued his duties with enthusiasm and dedication. I am shocked, and deeply saddened by his passing. R.I.P. Pierre.

I am so grateful to have found a place to remember you Pierre and offer my heartfelt condolences to your family. I had the pleasure of knowing you through my children's school in the mid 90's in Langley. You were genuinely kind, gentle and generous with your time and resources. Always an inviting smile and a calming presence. Just a very nice man. It was an honor to know you, what a great loss to us all. Thank You <3

So sorry Sheila, for your loss. I so enjoyed seeing you both an chatting with you at dog shows and of course, when you were both helping with handling classes. Pierre was such a gentle soul and so good with the dogs. May God keep you close to His heart as you grieve losing Pierre.

Sheila, I cannot tell you how saddened I was to hear of Pierre's passing. I worked with both of you in Prince George (OCC)and remember you both with great fondness. Sheila, my heart goes out to you and you are in my thoughts. Rita.

We are so glad to have met Pierre when he was a young RCMP officer stationed in Bella Coola, and have always had the highest regard for him as a professional. We got to know him also as a friend, and have many lovely memories of Pierre and his family here in Bella Coola. Our thoughts are with his family; we hope it will help them through this time to know that so many of us appreciate the kind of man he was, and feel very privileged to have known him.

Im so sorry for your loss. Its a huge loss for all of us.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden loss of your beloved Pierre. We purchased Jacksan 7 years ago from your exceptional kennel. He is the love of our life.Every Vet and kennel he has attended say he has the best temperament of any Shiba Inu they have ever seen. We feel so privileged to have met Pierre and saw him many times in his spokesman role. Thank you for breeding such wonderful dogs as we are blessed to have one of your progeny.I am sure those pets you presently have are totally devastated as you are Sheila but they will also be a comfort to you. Our sincere sympathy to you and your family. Sincerely, Sharon Young and Glen Pirie

My thoughts are with you all. Since Pierre and Sheila left Prince George living their dream life together in Abbotsford.I have missed our morning coffee, listening to his stories of living in a home with 3 women and loving every moment of it. Pierre had a sense of humour like no other and always made me laugh. He was kind and really loved his family and 4 legged pals. I am going to miss his smile that would light up a room but most of all I am going to miss the wonderful and kind man Pierre was and always will be to me. Until we meet again my friend. Your pal, Leane.

Every morning when I got to work I would head to Pierre’s cubicle & we would talk for a couple of minutes to share a morning laugh; I miss that. I miss Pierre. Sheila, Francoise, Christine, Anne-Marie, Julien, Veronika and Charlotte, please accept my sincerest condolences. My thoughts are with you as you struggle with the burden of this profound loss. Pierre was an exceedingly decent and kind man; we lost him too soon.

We are so sorry for your loss. The picture of Pierre with one of his beloved dogs is so appropriate. Pierre's positive impact on our lives is with us every day in the personages of Gracie and Rupert, our two beloved Lemaitre leonbergers. And that was only one aspect of Pierre's legacy. "Pay it forward" is a great message with which to honour him. Sheila, we will be thinking of you and the rest of the family.

Sheila and family, I was so sorry to hear the news about Pierre. I worked with you both in PG (Carol Moon, OCC), and have fond memories of you both. My sincerest condolences to your family. Carol Mitchell (Retired OCC Member)

Pierre, I hope you have found peace... we think of you every day... Francoise, Nicholas, Julien, Veronika and Charlotte xoxoxoxo
