I loved Miss McDermott's style as a PE teacher and coach at Hamber in the 70's. She was straight forward, with a no-nonsense attitude. It was hard for slackers to sneak anything by her. Rain or shine Miss McDermott had us girls running, playing grass hockey, soccer and softball, and encouraged us to finish that lap, spike that ball, or score on that layup. G-d Bless Her.
