Mary Melba Twemlow (nee Church)
July 18th, 1932 ~ August 10th, 2024
Born July 18, 1932, in Claresholm, Alberta, passed away on August 10, 2024, at Maple Hills Senior Care in Langley B. C.
Mary lived on her family farm near Stavely, Alberta until the age of 13 before moving to Aldergrove B.C. where she met and fell in love with Bill Twemlow. They were married November 3, 1951.
Moving to the Twemlow farm, they farmed dairy and beef cattle, along with large vegetable gardens, berries and fruit orchards.
Mary dedicated much of her professional life to the Ministry of Social Services, where she served as office manager until her retirement in 1987.
Outside of work, she was a passionate gardener, avid coin collector and enthusiastic traveler.
Exploring destination across Australia, Europe, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico and across Canada. With memorable group trips to Nashville, the canyon lands as well as family trips to Alaska and Fairmont Hot Springs, along with many fishing trips.
She was a devoted mother to Kathy (1952), Roger (1956), and Ron (1963).
Her devotion and commitment to her family and friends was immeasurable. Mary also cherished her role as grandmother to five grandchildren, two step grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Her positive attitude and zest for life was an inspiration to all that knew her.
She remained active in her community through volunteer work and participation in the local fall fair, where she won numerous ribbons.
Mary lost her beloved Bill in 2018, and battled health issues in her later years, but was overjoyed to attend her Grandsons wedding at the age of 90.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience and warmth. She will be deeply missed and forever held in our hearts.
