As a long-time resident of PIP I ran into Jeff quite often including in the elevator and he was always a ray of sunshine. Gonna miss him!
I was incredibly disheartened to learn about Jeff's passing. Having seen him smiling and energetic only weeks ago as he came into the Calgary Folk Music Festival office to volunteer. Jeff was an invaluable asset, and people took definite notice of his charm and enthusiasm. Without Jeff's support the atmosphere is the office would have been very different. He was a kind and clever man, and he will most certainly be missed.
It is with great sadness we learned of Jeff's passing. Our family had just returned from a trip to Newfoundland, a place Jeff was very fond of and talked about passionately to anybody who would listen! My father's family, the Bonnells were from Lamaline, not far from Lawn where Jeff's family originated. After he moved away from Anaheim Crescent in Calgary, where as neighbors we first met, I was fortunate to have maintained contact with him on a regular basis and we often met for coffee at the Roasterie on 10th st. and Kensington. Jeff was so outgoing and friendly, in fact he was liked by just about everyone he met. Jeff had the best sense of humor, was warm and caring, and the first person to offer help when somebody was in need. Jeff was a true friend to me and he will be missed more than I can say. The world is a better place for Jeff having lived in it, but it's just a little less kind and friendly a place without him! Our condolences to his Family and Friends. Our thoughts and Prayers are with you all and I know he will surely be missed. Kent Noseworthy and Family
I mourn Jeff's passing. Since he came into the folk festival family as a volunteer, I looked forward to his visits to the office with his coffee in hand. He was a joy to be with and we will all miss him greatly. I will always treasure the moments we shared just talking about life and stuff. Les
