Vonda Mildred Bernice McIntyre

Vonda Mildred Bernice McIntyre passed quietly on December 29th, 2012 at her home in Carstairs, AB.
Vonda was born March 11, 1933 in Elphinstone, Manitoba, the youngest of six children. Her parents, John (Jack) Hunter and Jessie farmed 5 miles outside of Elphinstone, and Vonda grew up doing farm chores, milking cows, and walking the 5 miles into town to play ball.
Vonda married Dennis Jerry McIntyre, of Sundre, AB, on July 31st, 1951. They raised four children in Edmonton and later Fort Saskatchewan, AB. Approximately a year after Jerry’s death in February of 1997 Vonda moved to Carstairs where she lived for the last 10 years.
Vonda is lovingly remembered by 2 sisters, Isabel Trew of Coquitlam, BC, and Gwen (Vern) Olsen of Lethbridge, AB, 1 brother, Clayton Hunter of Shoal Lake, MB, and her children Arlene (James) Wilde of Carstairs, Murray McIntyre of Calgary, Wayne (Lorraine) McIntyre of Gibbons, and Blaine (Jocelyn) McIntyre of Cochrane, as well as her 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Special thanks to Isabel for her loving care and support over the past year and to the Palliative Care team out of Didsbury.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Olds, Alberta. Interment Monday, January 7th at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Edmonton.
