It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful
passing of Maxine Munro in Calgary on April 16, 2012 at the age of 88. Born June 8th , 1923 in Eastend,
Saskatchewan, Maxine began a 37 year teaching career in a one room school house on the prairies and retired in 1979
from Vista Heights Elementary (Calgary).
She enjoyed camping, gardening, animals, people, travel, coffee with
friends and time with family. She will
forever be in the hearts of her daughter Sherri; son-in-law Mitch (Al
Mitchell); grandchildren Carly and Jesse (Munro); as well as nieces and
nephews. Predeceased by her parents,
Martin Pauley and Blanche Sanford; brothers Maurice and Sandy Pauley; husbands
Jim Munro and Sam Edwards; and her beloved 4-legged companions, dog, Bootie and cat, Buzzer.
If friends so desire, donations may be made to either the Alzheimer’s
Societyor the Calgary Humane Society.
Please join the family for a memorial service and informal gathering to
share photos and memories over coffee and sandwiches on Saturday, May 26, 2012
at 2:30 pm in the Atrium of the Bethany Care Centre, South Entrance (916 – 18A
Street NW, Calgary, Alberta).
