Margaret Ann Robinson
February 28th, 2012
Ann passed away
peacefully on February 28, 2012 in Calgary.
Ann and her twin sister Carol
Nistor (Alec) were a big
surprise as twins were not expected and it was the middle of the Depression.
Their arrival brought the family
children to five, having a sister Lynn Teeling (Jim) and brothers Bob (Bernice)
and Ron (Karen) whom Ann adored. Their parents were Agnes and Barsby Martin who
had the General Store, insurance company and post office in DeWinton. Ann’s career
was in banking where she started with the Alberta Treasury Branches, then spent
two years at the Bishop Bank in Hawaii. Returning to Canada, Ann worked at the
Royal Bank in Victoria then transferred back to Calgary. On May 12, 1962 she
married Joe Robinson, a man who loved her deeply. Together they had a home in Calgary and a farm at Rocky Mtn
House. Many hours were spent enjoying these properties and life.
Ann is
lovingly remembered by her daughter Lori ,
her husband Chris Tough and their two sons Liam and Sean, as well as
numerous beloved nieces, nephews and
other family members and friends whose
company she always enjoyed.
Ann’s family would like to thank the staff of the
Cedars Villa.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society, 201, 222
– 58 Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta T2H 2S3 would be appreciated.
We will be having a Private Family Service at
a later date.
Messages of condolence may
be left for the famiy.
Messages:
Dear Lori; We were all sorry to hear of your mothers passing. Kathryn phone me from Hawaii. She is so very sorry not to be here to be supportive of you at this most difficult time. I still expect to see your parents across the street when I visit my family. They were an important part of the McRae family. I know your mother is reunited with your dear dad in that wonderful place on the other side. Heaven will never be the same with Joe and my dear Don in the gardens. May you be comforted to know you were the best of daughters and your boys were the light of of their grandparent's lives. God bless you all. Joan Buck
My deepest condolences Lori, and to your handsome young family, I had the very good fortune to live next door to Ann and Joe for the last 12 years, and I could not have created better neighbors if such a thing were even possible. We shared many conversations over the backyard fence, mostly about their passion for gardening, but also about many topics including yourselves, and the farm. I share in your grief, and wish you all the best, they were truly remarkable, and unforgetable, people.
Sorry to hear of the passing of your mother, Lori & family. She was a beautiful person. I enjoyed working with her at The Royal Bank Dolores Rayburn (DJ)
