Gwendolyn May Bontje

April 7th, 2013

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gwendolyn May Bontje (nee Daschuk), devoted wife, mother, grandmother and GG. Gwen passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She will be remembered by her family and many friends for her constant kindness and caring. Gwen's courage, strength and faith had been a constant inspiration to all who knew her as she battled many health issues with dignity and grace over the past 28 years. Her memory lives on through her son, Glenn (Cathy); daughter, Kelly; as well as grandchildren, Christian, Aimee, Daniel Bontje, and Chelsea Cottrell. GG will also be missed by her great grandson, Elliott. She is survived by her brother, Steven Daschuk; sister, Rose (Bill) Langley; and a large loving extended family. Gwen goes to join her husband, Leonard Bontje who predeceased her in 2001.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 1566 Northmount Drive NW, Calgary, AB on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 am with luncheon and tributes will follow.
