Maurice William Buffel passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the age of 68 years after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Mourning are his wife of nearly 47 years, Donna; daughters, Pamela (Corey) and Jennifer (Dean); son, Steven (Suzanne); five grandchildren, Matthew, Evan, Ashley, Chase and Nash; plus five siblings and many nieces, nephews and friends. Maurice was the retired Associate Dean of Transportation at Sait, past board chair of Knox United Church in Didsbury, and active with the Didsbury Lion’s Club and Didsbury Show and Shine Committee. In his earlier years he coached Little League and was a Scout leader in Calgary. Maurice, AKA “Mr. B.”, was an example of dedication, integrity and leadership to many. A Memorial Service will be held at Zion Evangelical Missonary Church in Didsbury on Monday, June 3 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Liz Bowyer of Knox United Church officiating. Private interment to follow in Calgary. Donations may be made to the Didsbury Lions Club's Community Bus Fundraiser or the Canadian Cancer Society, 200, 325 Manning Rd. NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 2P5.
