Dorothy Irene Ferguson

Dorothy passed away peacefully in her sleep.  She is lovingly remembered by her son, Patrick (Mary-Anne) Loftus; her daughter, Sharon (Paul) Paraschuk; four grandchildren, Nelson (Mhairi), Russell (Chantel), Susan (Ryan) and Grant (Karen); seven great grandchildren, Keira, Eilidh, Cooper, Jackson, Maxwell, Michaela and Camdyn.  She was predeceased by her father and mother Nelson and Gertrude Straker, and her brother Stanley.  She was born in Lloydminster, SK and spent her childhood in one CN Rail town or another ending in Drumheller where she spent many years.  She moved to Calgary in 1980 to be near her family.  She was an active member of St. Thomas More Parish where she willingly volunteered for many activities for more than 30 years.  She loved cooking, knitting, sewing, baseball and anything related to Wayne Gretzky.  A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at St.Thomas More Church, 15 Templebow Road N.E., Calgary at 3 pm.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Dorothy’s memory can be made to either the local Food Bank or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200, 119 – 14 Street NW, Calgary, AB, T2N Z6.
