Harold William Evans

We are sad to announce the passing of Mr. Harold William Evans of Calgary on February 14, 2014 at the age of 93. A veteran of WWII, Harold served in the Canadian Navy and was discharged from service on the HMCS Assiniboine in September 1945. He worked most of his life with the Canadian Pacific RR. Harold was a first class athlete competing in the Pan American Games and qualifying for the Olympic Wrestling Team. He was inducted into the Alberta  Amateur Hall of Fame for wrestling in 1968. Harold shared his time and talents coaching at the YMCA for many years. He spent his retirement travelling across Canada and the USA in his motor home. Harold was always the first to offer help and the last to want any kind of fuss in return. He is loved by many and missed by all. A small Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
