It is with great sadness that the family of Mike Hubac announces his passing after a courageous and difficult battle with cancer at his Calgary home surrounded by loved ones. Mike is survived by his cherished wife,Jarka; son, Miro (Lisa); daughter, Christine. Mike was blessed to have two wonderful granddaughters, Mila and Gabriella; his mother, Estera; brother, Peter (Dagmar) and extended family is Slovakia.He was predeceased by his father, Dr. Miroslav Hubac in 1994 (Slovakia). Mike ventured into the painting industry and established Saint Enterprises, today A M Painting. Up to his last hours, he was still hands-on in completing ongoing projects. His work ethic was impeccable. He was an active sportsman, loved riding his Harley motorcycle and making wine with devoted friend, Miro Pittner (Zajac). Mike cultivated many friendships with fierce loyalty. He was taken from us far too soon and will be missed everyday by his family and those who knew him. The family gratefully declines flowers. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Croation Catholic Parish, 14675 Deer Ridge Drive SE, Calgary, AB on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 1:00 pm celebrated by Reverend John Bastigal and Reverend Domin Vladic.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. We hope you gods peace knowing he his free from pain. Hang onto all the wonderful memories, for they shall help and know he is watching over you. We enjoyed many years of camping with you and we will miss having you here. Mike made good wine and had a contagious laugh which we enjoyed around the campfire. God bless you and your family

He was very kind to Nick and Elizabeth who enjoyed many camping trips together with your family. We also remember the support you all gave during Elizabeth's illness and the kindness you extended to our family.We are so sorry for the most difficult year you have endured and hope you will find peace with the love of family and friends.
