Wilf’s Trademark – “Let’s Fix It”
In the early morning of April 23, 2014, Wilf called to Marguerite, his beloved wife of 58 years; “Schatz, come close to my face, let me go to be with my Lord Jesus”. In that hospital room, holding hands, she let him go. Softly, gently, and peacefully, he became free; truly free. We will miss him more than words can express! But our grieving will not be without hope as we trust Jesus’ promise that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Wilf, Marguerite and son Peter immigrated to Canada in 1960 from Germany and their daughter Angie was born in Drumheller, Alberta, shortly after. Wilf worked as a builder and carpenter, mostly on his own, and then for 24 years with CTV in Calgary until his retirement. Wilf loved and adored his family and spending time with them. He also enjoyed the outdoors, soccer, fishing, trips with the motor home, and worshiping his Lord! He will be remembered as a blessing and caring Husband, Brother, Dad, Opa, Opa Bus, Uncle and Friend by Marguerite, his wife and soul mate; son Peter Kalina & Kathy Wilson; daughter Angie Martin (Bill), Denise Kalina; grandchildren Matt, Lyndsy, Jenny & Jeff Kalina and Kim & Becky Martin; brother Helmut (Gundel) and family from Germany; Rose Wickstrand; Tammy & Darren Anderson and their children Kaitlyn, Chase & Brennan and many, many friends plus all his brothers & sisters in Christ!
We are thankful to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who has “fixed”
this life over death issue victoriously over 2000 years ago.
Death has been swallowed up in victory….
1 Corinthians 15:35-58
Heartfelt thanks and blessings to Dr. Tsoi for being with Wilf
and the family at just the right time.

To the family: My experiences with Wilf were limited, living where we do, but I will never forget the wonderful job Wilf did and working with him in executing the memorial services for my in-laws some years ago. He was very caring about the details and seeing that we were all comfortable with it all at a difficult time. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him, and may he rest in the peace of the Lord.
Wilf was a man that looked at problems and saw opportunities. I first met Wilf and Margrite at a time in thier lives when they had lost much but they seemed to only look forward to opportunities only they could see. This positive and unconditional unselfish attitude they had helped me back then in my younger years and stayed with me along the way in my life. Thank you Wilf and Margarite for your influence you had on so many people in such a good way. You've inspired many to be better.
A wonderful and heartfelt tribute to my brother in Christ, Wilf Kalina. I thank our Lord that Wilf is no longer in pain and is rejoicing with others who have made a decision for Christ! There is NOT a part of my home that has not been touched by Wilf's desire to FIX EVERYTHING! I am grateful for his love, friendship, and devoted heart to ALL of God's creation! See you on Saturday.
