MUELLER, Susan Louise
September 14, 1944 – May 9, 2014
Susan passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014 after a courageous seven-year battle with cancer. Susan will be dearly missed by her loving family including her husband of 52 years, Heinz; and her pride and legacy, sons, Richard (Maria), Robert (Gaia), David (Michelle); and five grandsons, Max, Cameron, Quinn, Brian and Greyson. Susan loved to host family and many wonderful friends in her beautiful garden. She enjoyed travelling and creating a warm, welcoming home where her family enjoyed many special celebrations and where everyone, especially her grandsons, were embraced with love and care.
Susan’s thoughtful and compassionate spirit is an inspiration that lives on through her final gift, the donation of her eyes to the eye bank. Susan wanted to thank all her family and friends, Dr. Scot Dowden and the nurses and staff at the Tom Baker Centre, the nurses (especially Doreen) who attended to her needs at home for 10 weeks, and to the staff at the Foothills Country Hospice in her final three days. In all cases – thank you for your compassion and care.
Rest in peace Susan.
Until we meet again.
A Celebration of Susan’s Life will be held in the Founder’s Lounge, Gasoline Alley at Heritage Park, 1900 Heritage Drive SW, Calgary on Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. A Private Family Service and Interment will be held in Medicine Hat at a later date. If family and friends wish, donations may be made in Susan’s name to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, c/o Alberta Cancer Foundation, 1331 29 Street NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 4N2.

We have known Susan for almost fifty years and are thankful that we met her. We enjoyed all our get togethers and many conversations throughout the years. Susan & I have shared many ideas in sewing, arts and crafts, shopping, cooking & etc. What a wonderful, generous and caring friend. Heinz and Family - may your cherished memories bring comfort and peace to your heart. With Sympathy, Jo & Harvey Becker & Family.
Although it has been many years since our HBOG days, Heinz, those memories are still with us. We were saddened to hear of your loss and wish to express our sincere condolences to you.
Heinz and family: Heartfelt sympathies from Todd, Ruth, and our children Jake and Grace. Susan always provided a welcoming and loving home when we visited. We loved walking through her garden and watching birds at the feeder. Susan was an honoured and special member of our family. Always remember that you loved her well.

Dear Heinz and family - our sincere condolences to you. We grieve with you on the loss of your precious Susan - wife, mother and grandmother. We had a wonderful visit with her a year and a half ago and it gave us such insight into her courageous and optimistic battle with cancer. She was truly an inspiration to us. We know that she will be missed so much. May the Lord bless you and keep you all. Jack and Lindy Vincent.
